Labor Day weekend is always a little bittersweet. The "end of summer" seemed to be the most popular status/caption across all my social media feeds. To mark the end of the season, I like to get away. My favorite place to go to during Labor Day is NYC.
NYC has always been a place to create unforgettable memories, so it was great to visit with B, as it was his first time to attend the US Open. While we were only at Flushing Meadows briefly before we got rained out, the day spent at the tournament was great. The mixture of crowds who come together to watch tennis is always impressive.
While tennis was our primary reason to visit, there of course was some shopping & dining to be done! Soho is my favorite spot in NYC to shop at, so of course that was our first stop to our weekend. Our day in Soho included a trip to Rag & Bone for some black skinny jeans for myself & a stop at Dior for a new pair of lace ups for B. A holiday weekend is always great to forget about dieting & workouts. I completely ignored the little voice in my head saying 'skip the carbs' as every restaurant we went to throughout the weekend was amazing. One of the highlights of the weekend was definitely dining at The Lion in Greenwich Village, a quaint spot that gave an extra touch to a great dinner with friends before a night out in the city.
It is always a little sad to get back home after visiting close friends & exploring the city. While I'm sure there will plenty of more Labor Day weekends in NYC to come, I can't help but feel sad every time the plane begins to take off, whisking me away back to Texas.
