Did we not learn anything from the 90s? Are we meant to repeat our same mistakes over and over again, stuck in this horrible fashion loop until the end of time? I don't think so.
Lets face it, the current trend of these 90s-esque, chunky, dad style sneakers is appalling. There's nothing fashionable or stylish about them besides their designer labels, which probably accounts for the bulk of the drive to purchase these things. Don't even get me started on people who buy things based on the label, that's a whole different gripe saved for another day.
If you're going to choose to wear sneakers outside of the gym, and somehow convince us that you're wearing them fashionably, there are plenty of other options out there. Some of them I will lay out for you in the picks below. Any item of clothing that is described as chunky does not belong in any of our wardrobes. Dad style sneakers make your proportions look cartoonish, almost Daffy Duck like. These fashion victim sneakers almost immediately make you look like you're going to mow the lawn, clean your gutters or take a power walk with your walkman around the block. Instead of WILLINGLY wearing shoes whose proportions are somewhat Mountain Hike Leader influenced, opt for some sleek, classic and size appropriate kicks like the Givenchy pair picked out below.
Up your style, gain individuality, and quit following trends that honestly egregious.
