Men's Health Ultimate Guy Search & How It Has Inspired Me Through Difficult Times

There are only a handful of magazines that I religiously subscribe to, with Men’s Health being one of them. I always look forward to the month’s latest issue because I can count on being informed on the latest & greatest in men’s fitness, nutrition, grooming & wellbeing.

Not all of us can achieve that Greek God-like physique that is usually associated with Men’s Health cover models, but there are regular guys out in the world like you & me who can all while inspiring & helping others! This month Men’s Health kicks off their nationwide ‘Ultimate Guy Search’ in hopes of finding the guy who embodies all the qualities that Men’s Health promotes.

Since its launch, the Men’s Health Ultimate Guy Search has featured guys from every walk of life. I personally have been inspired by winners in the past who have overcome personal obstacles & succeeded in using them to drive toward bettering themselves & helping those around them. Last year’s winner, Tim Boniface, left his career of banking to become a full-time firefighter & EMT after the events of 9/11 made him reevaluate his priorities. Its great to see a magazine shine the light on inspirational people like Boniface in hope of inspiring others.

I for one was deeply inspired by Boniface last year. After moving halfway around the world I was left with a feeling of self-doubt on a lot of things in my life, from career, friendships & life priorities. The move made me think of a lot of aspects of my life which I felt were in need of some attention. While I’ll spare you minutia of the personal details, I will say that picking up & starting a new life away from home comes with a myriad of problems. I know at 27 it’s not usual to have a quarter-life crisis, but at the time I truly felt like I needed to change a few things in my life. After hearing Boniface’s story I realized that whatever personal internal struggle I was working through at the time was not going to become what defined me. A year later I can say that while not 100% of my problems are solved, a majority of them I have been able to resolve. While I may not be out saving lives like Boniface, I was able to be inspired by him to take action in my life & pursue what I feel is right for me.

Think you have what it takes? Are you that well-rounded, active, health conscious & thoughtful guy who everyone looks to when seeking fitness advice? Or is your friend or loved one the perfect fit to be named this year’s winner? If so enter now at http://ultimateguy.menshealth.com. Along with the title of Men’s Health Ultimate Guy, the winner will be featured on this years November cover after being announced on The Today Show & receive a years worth of ISOPURE product.
