To me, a martini after dinner is the epitome of being an adult. Lately, I've trying to perfect the art of making a perfect Espresso Martini at home. Since I am not a fan of desserts, the espresso martini is the closest to a rich & indulgent treat after my meals.

For the last few days the Melbourne CBD has transformed into the ultimate fashion mecca for spring-wear in Australia. Melbourne Spring Fashion Week kicked off last week on August 28th & has transformed the center of the city into a 'sartorial sanctuary'. With various designers & events, the last few days have been amazing for anyone remotely interested in fashion.
Last night I was able to attend the 'Mr' menswear night of the week, with various designers & brands putting forth the latest styles for the spring. From start to finish, the show was impeccably styled. I was very excited when my friend Caitlin invited me to be her plus one for the night, as this would be my first Australian fashion week experience. The night started off with a VIP reception in Melbourne's Town Hall, with special guest & supermodel Ashley Hart & I couldn't help but resist to snap a photo with her!
Once we proceeded to our seats, we were dazzled by designers Aquila, Arthur Galan AG, BRENTWILSON, Calibre, Et Al, Godwin Charli, Jayson Brunsdon, Joe Black & M.J. Bale. One noticeable trend that I couldn't help but notice was jackets in light grey & creme shades. To me this is a nice change from your traditional blue blazer. Also, I took note of pants & shorts in floral prints. While I'm still on the fence if I could rock this trend, the models certainly made me consider getting a pair as my next purchase. As always, tailoring was impeccable. I have always believed that money is well spent getting your clothes tailored to your body, it creates a crisp line & elevates your look.
I look forward to many more Melbourne Fashion Weeks in the years to come. With a couple of nights left, I will certainly be taking advantage of this amazing event happening throughout the city.
Australian 'Fifty Shades of Grey' Opening Night Party
Last night I was invited to attend a party for the Australian opening night of the film, Fifty Shades of Grey. The venue could have not have been more conducive for a spectacular night, overlooking the Melbourne skyline at The Emerson Hotel at sunset has truly been one of the most picturesque moments I've had since moving here.
As the dress code was 'Hampton's Chic' I decided to bust out my new light blue Tom Ford TF004 slim cut jeans. Being a guy with athletic legs, I've never had jeans that fit me so perfectly throughout the leg. The second that I tried them on I instinctively knew that I had found those magical jeans, the ones that fit perfectly. I paired the jeans with a simple Zegna white shirt, Tom Ford bowtie & Christian Louboutin loafers. My personal favorite part of my outfit was my vintage fisherman's rope belt which fit in perfectly with the theme.
I'm very excited to check out the film tonight & see how such a controversial book was translated onto the silver screen. Are you looking forward to seeing the film? Let me know what you think!
Best Australian Menswear Stores
Good menswear stores are few & far between. A quality menswear store filled with covetable brands is very rare to come across. Since moving to Australia I've had the time to explore the various menswear stores across the country & have luckily found a couple of stores that completely raise the bar for men's shopping. From their store designs to the curated labels held inside, the following stores are the best of the best & definitely destination spots when in Australia.
Harrold's is a luxury menswear store with locations in both Sydney & Melbourne. With brands like Tom Ford, Givenchy, Balmain, Balenciaga & others, Harrold's is easily a one-stop-shop for quality menswear, it is hard to walk in & not fall in love with their clothes. Not only are the brands offered impressive, but the vast shoe selection is incomparable, you are sure to find a luxury shoe that fits your style. Shopping at Harrold's is truly an experience, the staff is helpful on helping you pick out the perfect outfit & they even serve you tea & coffee while you try on their clothes. Easily Harrold's has become my favorite store & completely unrivaled, the Tom Ford section is almost mecca for anyone who loves the American designer like myself.
Just a stones throw away from Harrold's in Melbourne, Marais is another men's store gem. This multi-brand boutique is easily any street-style shoppers dream. With a larger flagship store opening soon on Bourke Street, Marais is about to take over the menswear scene in Melbourne. The vibe of Marais is pure luxury, from the ornate chandelier hanging in the center of the room to the high-fashion clothing surrounding you once you step in, there is nothing in this store that will not please the sophisticated gentleman inside all of us.
I dare you to stop by these two stores next time you are in Australia. You will be unable to walk away without purchasing your next favorite menswear piece.
Lacoste + Australian Open
Recently I've gotten the opportunity to attend the Australian Open in Melbourne at Rod Laver Arena. Because I recently moved to Melbourne I've been able to go multiple days, including opening day. Tennis has always been a passion of mine, so getting to see Venus Williams, Rafael Nadal & Andy Murray throughout the week has been amazing!
Lacoste this year is a sponsor for the Australian Open as well as the official outfitter, because of this I decided to wear a Lacoste look to the Open. While I was there, I also decided to pop into the Lacoste store on the grounds to get a personalized original slim fit polo. I was allowed to choose from every nations flag represented at the Open as well as a few embroidered initials. Because I had Australia Day coming up & also because I wanted to represent my new home, I chose to have the Australian flag as well as the initials & year of the Open on my shoulder. I think I have my new favorite go-to summer polo this year!
I can't wait to attend this years Men's final this weekend & to sport my new polo! Who are you rooting for this year at the Australian Open? Let me know in the comments below.

Melbourne Street Style
All Images by Men In This Town
They say you can tell a lot about a city by observing its citizens & their style. Since moving to Melbourne I've enjoyed spending time at a cafe people watching while enjoying an Australian Iced Coffee (coffee + a scoop of ice cream). I've found that the city has an interesting street style unlike any other city I've been to.
From my first day in the city, I've realized how important it is to have proper outerwear. Since Melbourne is known to experience all four seasons in one day, it is essential to find the perfect coat that can transition throughout the day. Walking the streets of Melbourne, I've been inspired by the business men in their overcoats. An overcoat can add a finishing touch to a suit or even add an elegant touch to some dark denim.
Another big trend I've seen has been casual pants in all sorts of colors. Coming from the U.S. where denim is king, seeing chinos & other casual pants has made me elevate my pant game.
If I would have to create an outfit from the East Dane shop inspired by the typical Melbournian it would consist of a khaki chino, tucked in button up & a statement color blazer. Now that I've been in Melbourne for almost two months now, I look forward to changing up my style & rock some serious Australian looks.
