For some reason white denim seems to be somewhat of a divisive item of clothing, you either hate it or you love it. White jeans are a great way to experience wearing something comfortable and familiar, all the while looking stylish. So check out these five pairs of white denim that I picked out for you guys!Read More
Some trends come and go, but certain pieces stand the test of time, a good denim jacket is a perfect example of this. I feel a denim jacket is timeless and when styled correctly can make any guy look sharp. Whether you’ve never worn one, or simply want to freshen up your denim style, the following five style tips are easy to adapt and exude an effortless chic.
I find a lot of guys fear denim jackets because as a society we have shunned wearing denim on denim. A great way to ensure you don’t commit this cardinal style sin is to don a denim jacket in a non-traditional color. I personally recommend purchasing a quality white denim jacket because it can be worn with any kind of bottom, even with denim!
An easy way to rock a denim jacket is to accessorize it with a scarf that takes the focus off of the jacket. I think this a great look for the weekend or any relaxed situation you may find yourself dressing for. Opt for a slimmer denim jacket cut a bit short to avoid having your clothes drown you in fabric.
Wear It As a Blazer
I particularly am fan of any look that mixes casual pieces with formal ones, that’s why I suggest replacing your blazer with a denim jacket. Whether you wear your denim jacket with a buttoned down vest (like the look pictured above) or simply with a loosely tied necktie with an oxford, a denim jacket is a nice alternative to a casual blazer that is sure to make your outfit turn heads in all the right ways.
This tip is for all my friends out there that live by wearing all black throughout the year. You can maintain your sartorial cool while breaking out of the norm by layering on a light wash denim jacket that doesn’t take away from your Parisian chic style.
Give It A Rock Star Edge
An interesting take on the denim jacket I’ve been seeing more of these days is the biker style denim jacket. It has the edge of a leather jacket without the thickness & warmth of one. I rather enjoy how the biker denim jacket incorporates the zippers & flair of its edgier sibling. Also, unless you live in perpetual cool weather, you’ll be able to wear the biker denim jacket more days out of the year then you would a leather jacket.
P.S. at $61, this ASOS Skinny Biker Jacket is a steal that would be hard to pass up on!

A fashion staple of the 90s, destroyed denim jeans have made a return to the wardrobes of this generations fashion savvy. Unlike their grungry predecessors, this generations ripped jeans have grown up over the years, coming out now streamlined & tailored. Denim newcomer, Rustin Dime, is one of the latest brands articulating this tapered denim look.
Launched in 2009, Rustic Dime has been designing some killer destroyed jeans. I particularly like their denim because it adds a bit of a cool edge to any look. With a wide variety of washes, their 2015 line of jeans are sure to please everyone, especially since every single pair is priced below $70. Every time I walk out the door wearing their Saint Isko fit, I feel effortlessly cool. When wearing ripped jeans, remember to to balance out your look by keeping the rest of your outfit simple in order to avoid looking over-cluttered.
I'm particularly glad this trend has made its way around again. It livens up any outfit. I particularly am fond of the lighter shades Rustic Denim has to offer, especially since it can brighten up any summer look while maintaining a casual feel. While I enjoyed the clean & classic look of dark denim that was around the last few years, I will always have a soft spot for a style that fights the norm & stands out.
Celebrating with a two-part soiree, G-Star RAW hosted its grand opening for its first Houston location last Thursday May 15th, 2014. Beginning the nights festivities was the first event at the brand new store, located inside of the Houston Galleria; the in-store VIP event opened its doors to many of Houston's fashion forward crowd as an in-house tailor helped everyone create and customize their own pair of G-Star denim at the RAW workstation. Everything from the fit, buttons, and the metal details on the jeans were hand-picked and selected by every attendee in conjunction with the tailor, making everyone's jeans completely unique. I personally can not wait to wear mine soon! There were so many customizable options it was hard to pick what colors and combinations to choose from. Having heard of G-Star RAW from before and shopped at their locations worldwide, I was eager to have my own Its Gab Raf customized pair of G-Star denim. While sipping on champagne and Dutch beer, we were all able to check out the store and mingle amongst one another while getting to experience and see first hand the craftsmanship of G-Star RAW.
Following the in-store event, guests were invited to the after-party at Silver-Street Gallery. From the second you walked into the art space, it was easy to see that G-Star created the most unique party I've yet to attend for a retailer. G-Star RAW's clothes was brought to life in many forms that night, from mannequins lining the wall donning the apparel, to models mingling amongst the crowd bringing movement to the clothes and allowing us to see first hand how the clothes look when worn. The night was a blast, drinking craft cocktails by Leslie Ross from Triniti, and dancing to DJ Baby Jae, everyone in attendance was truly enjoying themselves. It is easy to see why G-Star RAW has been a sensation worldwide with their attention to details from not only their clothes but to the experience of this Dutch based company.
