Three years ago Houston photographer Omar Marcos decided to celebrate his birthday in unique way, by throwing a fashion show in which its proceeds would go to charity. This year Marcos' fashion show benefited the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society with a runway show at Proof Bar and Patio. The LLS is a dear group to me as day in and day out at work I work directly with leukemia at MD Anderson Cancer Clinic, so to attend an event that benefitted such a great cause was amazing. Along with helping out a great cause, the evening celebrated the LLS 'Man and Woman of the Year' campaign nominees.
With Circulo Tequila flowing and DJ John Tran on the decks spinning great music, the night kicked off to a great start. Soon the show began featuring collections by Isrel Fonseca for Gorgon Myth, Paola Contreras for Inclan, Danny Nguyen for DNC, Jiozei H KR for Jose and Lanre Omotunwashe for Stacks on Racks. The show started as the sun was beginning to set on the Houston skyline, providing a perfect backdrop to the nights event. The high energy and festive mood continued throughout the night and most important of all, everything was for a great cause, providing help against the fight against cancer.
