When it comes to packing for a trip I like to think I'm fairly efficient. I don't like to check-in my luggage unless I really need to (for example a long trip) but when it's a weekend trip like today's mini-vacay to Vegas I try to make everything fit into my carry-on. To make this happen I like to pack a lot of solid colors that can mix well with each other, I'm not one to plan what to wear until I'm getting ready for what I'm going to do. Check out what some of the items I packed in my suitcase & follow me on Instagram to check out my photo updates while away!

High-End, Pumped-Up Kicks

High-Tops are having a moment right now. No longer relegated to just schoolyards and gyms, this certain sneaker style has taken the footwear world by storm. With designers like Isabel Marant creating a work of art in the form of high-tops for women, menswear designers have taken note and created luxury sneakers that would make any shoe aficionado jealous. While the words “sneakers” and “luxury” don’t really go together, the following three designer brands have created high-end high-tops that are comfortable to wear every day, but edgy and fashionable to wear on a night out. Ditch your Oxford's and wingtips and style your next look with the following three picks. Pair them with some straight leg jeans and a t-shirt or be bold and channel your inner Justin Timberlake and wear them with your suit. With muted and monochrome colors, these pumped-up kicks will not have anyone wondering if you’re paying homage to the 90’s; the minimalist style and subdued colors assure the following high-tops will go great with any style and look.

Milan FW Trends, How You Can Wear Them

With Milan's Men’s Fashion Week drawn to a close last week, this post is dedicated to the three trends seen on the runways for Spring/Summer 2014. While SS14 may be a year away, with most if not all the pieces shown on the runway not yet available, steal the looks from the three biggest trends right now.

Florals

Florals Trend From Gucci to Prada, florals were a big trend at MFW. From large-scale to a touch in accessories, floral prints were everywhere throughout the collections shown. Taking a cue from Eastern culture, Prada included florals in floral print shirts and hibiscus adorned suitcases. Copy this look with a Libertine-Libertine Shirt with Palm Tree prints.

Monochromatic

Monochromatic If year was all about shades of grey, this year it’s about wearing varying shades of a monochromatic color. Calvin Klein, Bottega Veneta and Zegna displayed looks in head to toe color schemes based on a single unifying color. Pair a different hued blue shirt, like this Lacoste Linen Shirt, on top of some jeans you already own and rock your own version of the monochromatic trend.

Bermuda Shorts

Bermuda If Massimiliano Giometti's SS14 Salvatore Ferragamo show has any indication of the trend for shorts next season, is that Bermuda shorts are making its way back to the sartorial savvy. Straying away of the tight and shorter cuts as of late, many shows featured shorts with a well-tailored and looser fit. Keep cool this summer and slip into these similar Topman Blue Flecked Suit Shorts.

Wear It Wednesday - Colored Blazers

New weekly series that focuses on celebrity fashion and how you can wear it in an accessible way.

WIW-Ferragamo

With this weeks punk inspired Met Gala, all eyes were mostly on the women attending the event, that is until Nicholas Hoult stepped on the carpet. Wearing a Tom Ford midnight-blue shawl collar tuxedo jacket, Hoult was the most dapper gent walking the red carpet. Straying from the traditional black jacket, this pop of color works well in any formal occasion. Steal Hoult's look in this Ferragamo single breasted blue blazer. From Ferragamo's SS 2013 collection, this blazer is perfect for the spring and captures the essence of “a man passionately devoted to beauty, who lives in a metropolis with dynamic radiance” as described by Massimiliano Giornetti, Ferragamo's Creative Director. The vibrant color translates well from day into night and adds a touch of fun to any occasion. Locate a Ferragamo store near you.

5 Spring Basic Must-Haves

Any spring wardrobe should start off with some well-made basic items that will always be your go-to pieces to wear throughout the season. Think of them as your building block to your spring fashion. There is a reason why a crisp white Oxford will never go out of style, that's because not only does it look great on its own, but it can be built upon with a blazer or light sweater to finish off a look. These five picks are some great selections to have in your closet this spring. Not only will they look great this year, but they will never go out of style. These re-imagined classics will always stay on trend.

Headed by Massimiliano Giornetti since 2010, Salvatore Ferragamo has once again impressed with their Spring/Summer 2013 collection. From suits, sweaters, cardigans and jackets, the collection captures the essence of "a man passionately devoted to beauty, who lives in a metropolis with dynamic radiance" as described by Giornetti. The clothes depict a man who isn't afraid to play with colors that are vivid, bold and bright.  The piping and contrasting colored buttons on the blazers in the SS13 collection make the jackets pop, all the while adding a touch of fun.

In conjunction with the collection, the advertising campaign featuring Sean O'Pry and Raquel Zimmermann  photographed by David Sims, is set to launch and an exclusive first look at the images can be seen here. Contrasting with the landscapes, O'Pry and Zimmermann showcase the collection creating a stark contrast between the vibrant clothes and subdued background. The modern aesthetics of the clothes along with the both models timeless and alluring appeal will truly make Ferragamo's Spring/Summer collection stand out among this seasons latest batch of collections.
